Abstract

The field da'wah activity entitled "Empowering the Dhuafa Through Practical Da'wah and Productive Business Capital" aims to raise students' social awareness of the reality of poverty while simultaneously embodying Islamic values in practical form. The main objective of this activity is to equip the dhuafa with productive business capital to improve their standard of living, as well as to build students' understanding that da'wah is not only limited to lectures and rhetoric, but must also be realized through real actions and social empowerment. The method used in this activity is participatory and empowerment-based approach, starting with problem identification through direct observation in the field, followed by activity planning with active student involvement, fundraising through proposals and social networks, and implementing aid distribution and mentoring to the dhuafa who have been selected based on considerations of need and business potential. In addition, this activity is also complemented by a descriptive qualitative approach, where students conduct interviews and document beneficiaries to observe their development after the aid is provided. The results of the activity show a positive impact on both sides. For the underprivileged, business capital assistance provides the initial impetus to start or develop simple, productive economic activities, such as selling snacks, opening a small shop, or providing home-based services. This directly increases their self-confidence and motivation to pursue their endeavors. Furthermore, for students, this activity provides a concrete and reflective da'wah experience. They not only understand da'wah theory from textbooks but also experience it in real life: interacting, listening to community concerns, and becoming part of the solution. This activity successfully fosters empathy, strengthens social sensitivity, and instills the values of sincerity and responsibility as down-to-earth young da'is oriented toward social change. Therefore, this program is recommended for replication and broader development in the context of Islamic-based community service.
